Notes

To edit these notes, go to Template:Aedalas Blackmoore notes.

  • Boss is Immune. To win this encounter, the player has to destroy a special minions -  Captured Crocolisk, two Mountain Cats, and  Ogre Brute.
    • After Captured Crocolisk and Mountain Cats are destroyed, the remaining cards are removed from the player's hand, and the deck changes.
    • After Ogre Brute is destroyed, the battle ends with the player victory.
  • Boss starts with  Captured Crocolisk on the board.
  • The player always gets  Outrider's Axe,  Athletic Studies,  Conditioning (Rank 1) on mulligan.
    • These cards can be replaced with  Armorsmith,  Lord of the Arena,  Fight Trainer. The replacement takes place from left to right (i.e., if the player replaced one card, he will receive Armorsmith regardless of whether Outrider's Axe or Conditioning (Rank 1) was replaced).
  • The player always draws the first cards in the next order:
    • Phase 1
    • Phase 2
    • When moving to the next phase, all the cards in the player's hand and deck disappear, then the player draws three cards of a new deck.
      • If the player draws another card per turn, the next card in the list will be drawn. Further cards drawn on this turn will be random.
      • If the player has drawn more than one card per turn, a random one will be drawn on the next turn.

Dialogue[edit | edit source]

Before match

Thrall (present)
▶️Early in my life, I did not know who I truly was... or who my people were.
▶️Everything around me was defined by others - like my master, the Alliance lord, Blackmoore.
▶️When he bade me to eat, I ate... to sleep? I slept... And to fight? I fought with all my heart.

Introduction

Aedalas Blackmoore
▶️Come witness the might of my pet orc!
▶️These people are paying good money, Thrall. I trust you'll put on a show for them?
Thrall
▶️Yes, master.

Emote Response

Aedalas Blackmoore
▶️No one pays to hear you talk, Thrall.

Hero Power

Aedalas Blackmoore
▶️Bring another challenger!
▶️Let's see how he fares against this one!
▶️Watch him defeat this foe!

Idle

Aedalas Blackmoore
▶️Some people keep pet dogs or cats, but I prefer orcs. They eat a lot though.
▶️After the Second War, most orcs ended up in camps. However, they make great entertainment!
▶️This orc has been trained to be perfectly obedient. I'm certain he's not faking it. At all.

Turn 1

Aedalas Blackmoore
▶️I trained this orc foundling to become the ultimate warrior!
<crowd cheers>

Turn 3

Aedalas Blackmoore
▶️Would you believe me if I told you he also likes to read?
<crowd laughs>

Turn 5

Taretha Foxton
▶️Thrall, this is too much for you.
Thrall
▶️If I don't keep fighting, Blackmoore won't be pleased...
Taretha Foxton
▶️He is wrong to treat you this way.

Thrall at 10 Health or less

Taretha Foxton
▶️Let me help you!

Death

Aedalas Blackmoore
▶️Well, I'm off to celebrate and spend your earnings! Rest up for your next match, Thrall.
Thrall
▶️Yes, master.
Taretha Foxton
▶️He's gone! This is your chance to escape!
Thrall
▶️I did my best, and it still was not enough for him. You may be right...

Defeat

Aedalas Blackmoore
▶️You owe me everything! And this is how you choose to repay me...

Lore[edit | edit source]

Warcraft Wiki icon.pngThis section uses content from the Warcraft Wiki.
Aedelas Blackmoore was the master of Durnholde Keep and head of the orcish internment camp system shortly after the Second War, and the man who found  Thrall lost in the wilds.
Thrall was found amongst the bloody bodies of his murdered parents somewhere in the north of Loch Modan by Aedelas Blackmoore, commander of the internment camps which held orcs after the end of the Second War. Blackmoore gave him the name Thrall, which was another word for "slave" in the human tongue, which would cling to the orc for the remainder of his life. Blackmoore returned to his fortress, Durnholde Keep, with Thrall, and raised him as a gladiator — with all the savagery of an orc, but with the keen strategic intellect of a human. He was trained and taught by many, wet-nursed by a human woman, and grew to befriend her daughter,  Taretha Foxton. Thrall proved to be an excellent student and a phenomenal fighter. Thrall became a gladiator in Durnholde's arena and Aedelas' source of money. During one encounter in the arena, Prince  Arthas Menethil visited Durnholde Keep in order to watch Thrall in a fight.
He was clever, quick and enormous even by orc standards. Blackmoore's abusive beatings both in and out of the ring began to take its toll. Taretha began to write him letters and secretly delivered them to him in his cage within books, and he wrote back to her. Eventually, he wrote to Taretha that he wished to escape, following a series of fights where he fought bravely but did not finish the last round, and was consequently physically punished by Aedelas.
Taretha created a diversion inside Durnholde Keep which allowed Thrall to escape from his cell unnoticed. They met up outside the fortress by a cave, and Taretha gave him provisions and supplies. He then left Durnholde, hoping to never return.
