Lore

Cenarion Hold was a location of utmost strategic importance in Silithus and one of the biggest druid settlements in Kalimdor — almost as big as Moonglade itself. The Cenarion Circle took over the duty of defending the ancient night elven settlement against the increasingly hostile and aggressive silithid and other forces that had set foot in the troubled region, establishing the Fort, after the War of the Shifting Sands to guard the imprisoned Old God  C'Thun and its armies.
The settlement was reached on foot by following the well-worn track through the Un'Goro Crater northwest from the Mossy Pile. The path climbs steeply up the cliff, and switches back on itself to enter Silithus. The merchants of Cenarion Hold gladly sold their goods to any adventurer who passed through, since business was hard to come by.
The hold was destroyed along with the rest of Silithus when Sargeras tried to destroy Azeroth at the end of the third invasion of the Burning Legion.  Malfurion Stormrage reported that everyone in the hold was killed instantly. During a ceremony in Thunder Bluff,  Hamuul Runetotem advocated recreating the Cenarion Hold, and some in Orgrimmar are wondering whether Cenarion Hold is needed now that C'Thun and his aqir are defeated.
