Lore

In World of Warcraft, Fireball is a classic mage spell that has been tied to the class since its creation. Mages specialized in Fire are particularly skilled in their use, but all mages have access to the spell.  Jaina Proudmoore and  Archmage Antonidas actually excelled in Frost spells, but were powerful enough to have intimidating spells from all schools of magic.

Trivia

  • The artwork for this card comes from the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game "Twilight of the Dragons" series, for the card Incinerate.
  • This card's art depicts a gnome suffering the full force of a large Fireball.[1] The gnome appears to be dual-wielding, suggesting a rogue or possibly a Fury warrior.
  • Hearthstone's former Game Director, Ben Brode, owns the original art for this card.[2][3]
