This is an archive of old issues reported to the admins. Please add any new issues to the new admin noticeboard.

Missing images and inconsistent image sizes[edit source]

--> Discussion: Hearthstone Wiki talk:Admin noticeboard#Missing images and inconsistent image sizes

A reimport is needed to upload images now missing for certain cards and to get regular and gold card images of the same size. OOeyes (talk) 22:24, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

Update: the missing images have been uploaded, but due to autocropping, regular and gold images are no longer the same sizes. Problems caused by this will have to be addressed on our side. See the discussion. OOeyes (talk) 01:33, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

Card set information import[edit source]

--> Discussion: Hearthstone Wiki talk:Admin noticeboard#Card data, abilities and mechanics

Support for card sets has been added to {{Card data}} and {{Card infobox}}. Two things remain to be done:

  • Writing a query template to display cards in a set.
  • An import to add this information to the data. This is complete as of 01:33, 28 March 2014 (UTC).

OOeyes (talk) 22:24, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

New custom query templates are available to serve this need: {{Custom equipment card table}}, {{Custom equipment card table}}, and {{Custom equipment card table}}.

Immune ability not in card data[edit source]

--> Discussion: Hearthstone Wiki talk:Admin noticeboard#Immune table

The importer may be able to handle adding Immune to the card data, but this isn't confirmed yet. I've submitted another request for dev to look into this. OOeyes (talk) 20:00, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

Update: Immune is now handled by the importer and was correctly handled in the last import. OOeyes (talk) 01:33, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

Uncollectible flag and generic tags[edit source]

--> Discussion: Hearthstone Wiki talk:Admin noticeboard#Card data, abilities and mechanics

Support for these has been added to {{Card infobox}}, but it only currently sets these invisibly to properties. Query templates for these still need to be written, and perhaps starting a discussion on how we want to visually flag collectible and uncollectible in the current queries. OOeyes (talk) 22:24, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

New custom query templates are available to serve this need: {{Custom equipment card table}}, {{Custom equipment card table}}, and {{Custom equipment card table}}.

Tooltip code refactoring[edit source]

--> Discussion: Hearthstone Wiki talk:Admin noticeboard#Tooltips

The current code supporting tooltips works, but was adapted from an approach not ideal to working with properties and images. Investigation and experimentation is needed to improve its efficiency. OOeyes (talk) 22:24, 23 March 2014 (UTC)

Card image text errors[edit source]

An editor recently reminded me of the text error in the image for  Power Word: Shield (the word 'Draw' is strangely down a line from where it should be). I assume this is to do with the way the image is constructed by the people at Hearthpwn, and if at all possible it should be fixed.

I'm used to seeing minor errors of this kind, so I went through the main card lists and found the following cards to have minor errors. The first line is cards with mistaken or early line breaks, such as  Soul of the Forest, while the second is mostly unnecessary spaces before punctuation, eg "Charge , Divine Shield". I expect both lists (especially the first) will be considered not worth the effort of fixing, but just in case the person responsible has an admirably high level of pride in their work, I've provided it here anyway.

 Soul of the Forest -  Unbound Elemental -  Tirion Fordring -  Bloodmage Thalnos -  Azure Drake -  Flare -  Mirror Image -  Cenarius

 Argent Commander -  Windfury -  Ancestral Healing -  Hand of Protection -  Unleash the Hounds -  Warsong Commander -  Argent Protector -  Dust Devil -  Tundra Rhino -  Windspeaker -  Doomguard -  Master of Disguise -  Sunwalker -  Earth Elemental -  Patient Assassin -  Ancient Mage -  Grommash Hellscream -  Gruul -  The Black Knight

I passed this along, and I've been assured they are already aware of these issues. There has been a lack of time to clean those up. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 16:18, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Heroic boss HP[edit source]

I noticed the heroichp parameter was added to the card data layout a while ago, but the infoboxes still aren't displaying these values (eg  Baron Rivendare, both values entered, only normal showing). We can leave them manually stated as previously (eg Maexxna (hero)), but the new system is adding little error symbols at the start of these articles now due to these parameters not receiving purely numeric values. -- Taohinton (talk) 16:36, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

The heroichp parameter has been fixed. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 01:21, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

TOCs[edit source]

I notice the TOCs are no longer showing any border or background colour, which I'm finding less clear/worse than previously. I initially assumed this was to do with the MediaWiki upgrade, but I'm posting it here in case it was intentional, or an inadvertent change as part of trying to fix problems from the upgrade. -- Taohinton (talk) 17:04, 11 September 2014 (UTC)

It's a 1.23 change I missed. They used to have the TOCs in a table for some reason, but they've switched it to a more sensible div. I'll make sure the CSS is updated to cover this change. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 01:10, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

Expert -> Classic[edit source]

With Patch 2.0.0.7234 we can see that all the previous cards are now in the 'Classic' set. We currently have them marked as 'Expert', but obviously we want to change that to match the term used in-game. Can we have a bot run to change all card data with |set=Expert to |set=Classic ? -- Taohinton (talk) 00:22, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

Sure thing. This is all done. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 14:25, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
Great, thanks! -- Taohinton (talk) 17:16, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

Question About Videos[edit source]

Greetings! I've used this wiki for reference for ages, but recently joined when I discovered a new strategy option made available thanks to the Gnomes vs. Goblins expansion which I could add to Maexxna (hero). I felt this was worth adding to the page since it makes it possible to beat Maexxna without using a single rare card, meaning the deck is easily made by pretty much anyone. I was able to add a deck list just fine but I also had a video demonstrating how it works. When I tried adding the video though, I was told that it youtube links were black-listed. This confused me since I saw 2 other videos already on the page. So now I'm curious what the policy/rules are regarding videos. Do that have to be individually approved by an admin? Are users discouraged from adding new videos in general or are they acceptable if it adds something new which wasn't there before? I can understand not wanting to have every page flooded with videos, but I'm confused about the rules behind how the determination is made as to what videos are allowed. --Teksura (talk) 07:39, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

We use Extension:SpamBlacklist on our wikis, and by default, it loads blacklist entries from here, which isn't under our control. It seems that sometimes Youtube slips on that list, as I've heard of at least one case of it being blocked before, though it looks like it isn't currently there. This is probably what blocked the link, though I can't say for sure. I'll add a couple whitelist entries that should hopefully prevent Youtube blocks, because no, there is no policy on this wiki against them. If you still have trouble after this, please let me know and copy and paste the exact message you receive so I can better identify the source of the block. oOeyes User-OOeyes-Sig.png 14:57, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
It appears to be working now. Thanks. --Teksura (talk) 17:11, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
