Lore[edit | edit source]

The artwork depicts a trick where a person pretends to pull off their own finger by hiding half of it behind their hand and using a finger from their other hand as the removed finger. Trying to pass off a very simple illusion as a magic trick is quite in character for a goblin.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The goblin depicted in Magic Trick's card art is  The Great Akazamzarak, a goblin magician found performing in the Eventide district in the Legion version of Dalaran. During the Legion mage campaign, Akazamzarak is recruited by the Tirisgarde order for his expertise with portals and teleportation.
  • Magic Trick was for much of the development of Rise of Shadows a card that was simply "Make a minion disappear. *Poof!*". The designers liked the effect and flavor, but it was just too similar to  Polymorph, so the idea was put on hold until the design was carried over to  The Amazing Reno.[1] This design was later reused for  Life Sentence.
