- Metcalf is paid tribute in World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor through the NPC Ryan Metcalf, who features in a quest introducing Alliance players to the podlings. These tiny botanical humanoids appear friendly, if a little odd, and assist the player in locating some missing lumberjacks from their garrison. Eventually the podling leader enigmatically leads the player toward a cave deep within their territory, where the remains of Metcalf are discovered, having been eaten alive by a swarm of tiny podlings.[1]
