- The mana cost of this card is reduced by 1 for each friendly Pirate currently on the battlefield. Pirate cards in the player's hand will not reduce its cost.[2]
- The mana cost of this card cannot be reduced below 0. However, further cost-reductions can help in countering cost-increasing effects like Freezing Trap.
- This card has an in-hand effect: it modifies its own mana cost only while in the player's hand, and not while the card is anywhere else.
- Skycap'n's Charrrrrge ability is no different from regular Charge.[3]

Lore
Skycap'n Kragg is an original Hearthstone character.[4] He is clearly an orc Pirate, and the Horde sigil on his mount's chest seems to proudly assert his loyalty to the faction.
Following his introduction in Hearthstone, Kragg would go on to appear in World of Warcraft with the Battle for Azeroth expansion, appearing as a boss in the Freehold dungeon.
Kragg reappears in Galakrond's Awakening as Sky Gen'ral Kragg.
Trivia
- Shortly before the release of The Grand Tournament it was decided that the original design for this card was too powerful and must be removed from the game.[5][6][7] Because of his starring role in the expansion's cinematic, rather than simply remove Kragg, the title and card art for Skycap'n Kragg were swapped with those of Captain Scaleblade[8] (also a legendary Pirate minion) allowing the character of Kragg to survive in a new and less unbalanced form.[9][10] Kragg's original design would eventually be released 16 months later as Patches the Pirate.[11]
- Kragg's "Charrrrrge" card text was used instead of simply "Charge" in order to make him feel "unique".[12]
