Lore
Stegodons are stegosaur-like dinosaurs native to Un'Goro Crater. In Journey to Un'Goro, stegodons are characterised as being very noble, proud and protective of their young, making them a perfect fit for paladin.[1]
As seen by 
Spikeridged Steed, this particular stegodon is initially used as a mount by a tortollan but ends up leaving its master behind. Indeed, the tortollan rider can be seen angrily waving his fist in the background of Stegodon's card art.
