Self-trigger?[edit source]

Knife Juggler obviously does not go off in reaction to its own summoning. Does it go off when it is put into play by, say, Deathlord, Resurrect, or Ancestor's Call? Presumably not - I would guess there is a condition in the rule for the card's trigger that checks if the entity ID of the minion being summoned is the same as the Knife Juggler. - jerodast (talk) 18:22, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

I feel like if that worked, I would have seen a report of it by now, since that's a very common thing to happen (Deathlord in particular). Here's something interesting, though: If you play Illidan Stormrage then Knife Juggler, Knife Juggler triggers off of the Flame of Azzinoth spawned by being played: https://youtu.be/1VWyxqolpgg --Patashu (talk) 00:44, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

Summon and what else[edit source]

It is well known that Knife Juggler goes off when a minion is played directly OR summoned by another effect. I would guess this is true of effects that "Put into battlefield" as well, but is there a handy video to confirm this? - jerodast (talk) 18:22, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

I guess it seems so obvious that I never bothered to make a video demonstrating it. Can't think of one off the top of my head. --Patashu (talk) 00:45, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, both these questions are nitpicky cases mostly related to differences in our own terminology rather than anything I actually think is in game. - jerodast (talk) 00:58, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
It is worth noting that 'put into battlefield' effects like Deathlord and Voidcaller differ from just summoning in one interesting way - they have the 'Force play' and order of play bug. Advanced_rulebook#.27Force_play.27_and_play_order_bug --Patashu (talk) 01:58, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
Mmm, true. Could you explain the "force play" part of that? The order of play bug is pretty straightforward. But what do you mean by "force play"? Or do you just mean that the ability inherently puts a minion into play? - jerodast (talk) 02:16, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, force play is just our name for Ancestor's Call/Voidcaller/Deathlord/Alarm-o-Bot. They all have the bug, so it's suspected that they have a code path in common. --Patashu (talk) 02:33, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
