Notes

  • Tear Reality generates a random mage spell from any card set that has become exclusive to Wild format, regardless of if the player is currently playing in Standard or Wild format. It will not generate any spells from card sets that are still available in Standard format.[1]
  • Spells created by Tear Reality still follow Standard rules (when playing in Standard).

Trivia

  • In initial design, Tear Reality read: "Add 3 random Mage spells from the past to your hand. They cost (1) less."[2]
  • This card's flavor text references Black Lotus, Pot of Greed, and Base Set Charizard, which are each often considered the most valuable card in Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Pokémon: The Trading Card Game respectively.
