Lore[edit | edit source]
The Runts appear similar to pygmies, small humanoids related to goblins, normally found on the Lost Isles and in Uldum. More specifically, they greatly resemble the Pygmy Thieves, pygmies attempting to steal dates from the Tahret Grounds in Uldum by standing on each other's shoulders in stacks of three. A quest given by the nearby Nomarch Teneth requires using a mallet to smash the thieves.
The concept for the Wobbling Runts card is that the Runts at first fight in a teetering tower; when knocked over, they dissemble and fight individually.[1]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The designers intentionally arranged for the individual Runts to be drawn by a different artist than the main Wobbling Runts card, with the two referencing each other in order to ensure an overall cohesion.[2] This was intended to help players to easily distinguish between them when playing, while making the individual Runts feel part of a group.[3]
