Notes
To edit these notes, go to Template:Darkglare notes.
- Although unspecified in its text, Darkglare only triggers on your turn.
- Since Darkglare refreshes mana rather than grants mana, you cannot exceed your current mana cap.
- While Darkglare is worded with "After your hero takes damage", its ability triggers in the same phase as Zzeraku the Warped which is worded with "Whenever your hero takes damage". They will trigger in play order even if Zzeraku was played after Darkglare.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
Prior to Patch 18.2, Darkglare was able to refresh 2 Mana Crystals instead of 1, making Life Tap free to cast as long as you had the initial 2 mana to use it. Getting a second Darkglare in play was extremely valuable, since you would gain 4 mana each time your hero takes damage. This often lead to extremely powerful combos in Wild, particularly with cheap self-harm cards like Flame Imp in combination with cards like Floating Watcher and Molten Giant. Even after the patch, darkglare warlock remained an incredibly dominant deck in wild, withstanding meta shifts due to its capability of getting out giants cheaply being fundamentally unchanged.
