Lore

Flesh-shaping is an extremely painful process which is used on living animals. It "stretches" skin, bone and flesh on animals, forming it into new shapes, while they're alive and screaming loudly. Mastering this power requires decades of study. The Engine of Nalak'sha was the source of the mogu's flesh-shaping power. In the Halls of Flesh-Shaping lies the mysterious substance responsible for all mogu flesh-shaping experiments.

Flesh-shaping was the method used by the ancient mogu to create several of their servitor races, including the grummles and saurok.

Trivia

  • In Patch 16.4.0.42174, after Mogu Fleshshaper's nerf, a glitched version of Mogu Fleshshaper started to appear, which had its unnerfed mana cost, a completely white background replacing its artwork and no set watermark. Players reported the glitch Mogu Fleshshaper appearing through transformed Shifter Zeruses in the Shiftcon West Tavern Brawl occurring at the time, or by transforming through  Evolve effects.[1] It could also be searched when viewing the Wild collection and even crafted. Robert "Fluxflashor" Veitz, the founder of Out of Cards, explained that Mogu Fleshshaper would not be reverted, and the unnerfed version was meant to be a pre-nerf card intended for Tavern Brawls with former champions' decks before card nerfs. The glitched Mogu Fleshshaper was a result of them accidentally flagging the duplicate as collectible, and it was eventually patched out.[2]
