- This minion deals damage to the controlling hero each time it suffers damage, regardless of the amount. This means that multiple instances of minor damage such as
Arcane Missiles will produce far more damage output than a single burst of damage such as Fireball.[1]
- A Bittertide Hydra with Lifesteal will re-heal the player each time the hydra's effect damages the player; but this is possible only with
Deathstalker Rexxar's Hero Power, Build-a-Beast, the Rise of Shadows paladin spell 
Lightforged Blessing, or the Ashes of Outland priest spell 
Apotheosis.

Lore[edit | edit source]
Bittertide Hydras are hydra mobs found in and around Bittertide Lake in Sholazar Basin, a region of the continent of Northrend very similar to Un'Goro Crater.
Notably, while Sholazar's Bittertide Hydras belong to the two-legged hydra variety native to Azeroth, the artwork for Hearthstone's Bittertide Hydra instead depicts the four-legged hydra variety found on the planet of Draenor.
