Deathrattle Hunter is a midrange Hunter deck type that makes heavy use of Deathrattle synergies.

Deathrattle Hunter first came to scene in the Year of the Mammoth. This version of Deathrattle Hunter made heavy use of  Devilsaur Egg, using Deathrattle activators like  Play Dead and  Terrorscale Stalker to gain a massive tempo boost afterwards. Later in the game as their power tapers off, other higher-cost Deathrattle minions like  Mechanical Whelp and  Kathrena Winterwisp are used. Other cards like  Candleshot and  Witchwood Grizzly provide defense. The goal is to create a very sticky board while maintaining pressure with early Deathrattle activators.

In the Year of the Dragon, Deathrattle Hunter decks switched to utilizing high-cost Deathrattle minions instead, hybridizing with Mech Hunter.
