Lore[edit | edit source]

In World of Warcraft, Voidform is a passive Shadow priest ability that is activated when the priest casts the Void Eruption spell, which requires 100 Insanity to cast. Voidform increases the priest's haste and Shadow damage dealt and temporarily reduces the cooldown of  Mind Blast. While in Voidform, the priest's Insanity resource will drain rapidly until they reach 0 Insanity, at which point Voidform ends, but the duration of the effect can be extended by casting Insanity-generating spells such as Void Bolt.

While under the effects of Voidform, the priest is forced to speak Shath'yar, the language of the Old Gods. If they remain in Voidform for an unusally long amount of time, a pair of flailing, shadowy tentacles will temporarily sprout from the priest's shoulders.
